[h3]The University of Western Ontario (UWO) Chapter[/h3] Global China Connection, The University of Western Ontario Chapter (GCCUWO) strives to encourage social, cultural, business, and philanthropic exchanges between China and the UWO undergraduate community. This exchange will be achieved through the development of working relationships with university groups in China, the creation of interactive events bringing together the greater UWO, London, and Canadian community, and the promotion of greater collaboration between the many Asian and leadership oriented interests on campus. GCCUWO aims to: Cultivate friendships between UWO, China, and the international community by creating a global network of future leaders Promote greater understanding of China on campus through collaborative programs with the extensive network of graduate schools, research centers, and alumni and student organizations of the UWO community, and Provide access to UWO’s undergraduate community to advertise directly through the greater GCC network extending over 60 universities. Since early in high-school, Matthew has been actively committed to student organizations, entrepreneurial ventures, and business competitions. In his first two years at Western, he worked as a director of the Chinese Students’ Association, and as a Residence Advisor at London Hall. As president of the Global China Connection, University of Western Ontario chapter, Matthew hopes to establish a platform from which individuals of UWO may develop professionally, while having the opportunity to collaborate with people of success from around the world. Matthew is currently in the Richard Ivey School of Business pursuing an HBA degree aspiring for a career in the financial sector. Outside of GCC, and the Ivey building, you’ll find Matthew in the gym, playing guitar, listening to music, hiking, or biking.
